Food & Soil
Did you know that healthy soil sequesters more carbon than our rainforests do? As consumers we can support the worldwide regenerative agriculture movement with smarter food choices, which is healthier for us personally, as well. Learn all this and more in this episode.
Part Two:
Kids
Meet kids (and their parents, teachers and administrators) who are learning STEM in their outdoor learning gardens, while also growing healthy food that they love to eat. One school in England has almost completely eliminated plastic. Many of these schools are also raising thousands of dollars by selling their produce and compost, which can go back into creating a more inspiring and engaging learning environment.

Animals & Conservation
WildlifeDirect is teaching kids in Kenya how to preserve the iconic animals of Africa, including elephants, giraffes and more. The Pachamama Alliance works with indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest to protect trees, native plants, animals and water sources. Another organization is bringing water wells to rural areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Part Four:
Clean Energy and Everyday Sustainability
Findhorn in Scotland powers its community with wind and solar, grows organic food and has built a community around sustainability, mindfulness and harmony with the land. EARTHDAY.ORG urges us to end plastic pollution. Environmental expert Tony Juniper, CBE, offers easy ways for each of us to reduce our personal CO2 footprint and be the change our planet needs to heal.
Part Five:
Gratitude
An attitude of gratitude (combined with wisdom and right action) can empower us to embrace the solutions that are at hand, rather than feeling desperate and paralyzed by climate anxiety. You’ll find inspiring messages from H.H. The Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Deepak Chopra, Don Jose Ruiz and Compton Community Garden Leader and Cordon Bleu chef TemuAsyr Martin in this episode.
